I offered to illustrate three posters for The Hill which were exhibited in the main dining room and sold to tourists and locals. I formed the brief around The Hill’s new identity and unique heritage.
The first poster is called “Free People” and illustrates different profiles of people in colourful ink - this was a comment on our current democracy and the fact that South Africans are now free from racial boundaries. The second poster is called “Space to Be Free” and illustrated a galaxy as a play on the word “space”. The third and final poster is called “A History of Freedom”. The poster is covered with the prison’s history written in a blue, overlapping with a harsh red pattern.
